It All Hangs in the Work-Life Balance

Let’s see here, my last post was… holy-hot-dog-on-a-stick, Batman.

June 27.

Yeah, a lot has happened since then. A lot is the understatement for Kim v2015. I wish I was exaggerating. It’s like my life was at one point an ongoing tabletop campaign and an old god decided to (ノಥДಥ)ノ︵┻━┻・/.

(ノಥДಥ)ノ︵┻━┻・/ is also an understatement.

I love a good understatement.

The above statement is an understatement in itself.

As you all have noticed (I would hope, haha) that I have taken an abnormal hiatus from drawing and all that jazz. As this lapse wasn’t anything pre-planned, it’s gotten me to be very disconnected from my personal work and projects.

Project Teatime is fine by the way. I’m so ahead of schedule as far as writing that it just needs another read through and a little bit of pruning. The unforeseen break may have helped more than hurt in this regard because I will be re-approaching the story with a fresher outlook without totally rewriting the plot at all. The plot itself is fine, it’s the meat around the bone that needs a bit of “tenderizing.”

The brief intermission may have helped with the artwork as well. We shall only see once I start getting back into the speed of things, which is going from 0 to 88.

So! I mentioned my work-life balance has been crazy. It’s predictable as much as it is relentlessly unpredictable. Working around a schedule that seems to be un-moldable has been taking a lot of my energy, driving me to burning the candle at both ends all day every day, eight days a week. I have been feeling overburdened and frustratingly exhausted. Driving through LA during peak hours also makes my eye twitch every so often.

I have no galleries for the rest of the year. That’s probably for the best until I can clear my head and clear out my schedule and all the loveliness that is involved with catching up with yourself.

Commissions are closed until further notice.

Conventions. I will be attending Comikaze for sure, Saturday only though. NYCC is a no. Long Beach Comic-Con is a maybe; one or two days there. PAX is a no. PAX South is a maybe. C2E2 is a maybe. San Diego Comic-Con 2016 is a go.

Anyhoo, I’ll be doodling here and there. I mainly post on Instagram because it’s just less fussier to me—I’m the queen of taking pictures of my monitor instead of posting a saved jpeg, because I’m totally awesome and annoying like that.

My natural calling seems to be drawing men. Is that really any surprise?
